As of January 3, masks are required inside of Emmons Wellness Center, for all Emmons staff and all visitors to Emmons.

Good morning Oxy community,

Welcome to the spring 2024 semester! As COVID-19 cases are increasing locally and nationwide, Los Angeles County has moved from the Low to the Medium Hospital Admission Level. The County uses hospital admission levels to guide their assessment of risk, and to help inform public health prevention and mitigation strategies.

With the hospital admissions in the Medium Level, Los Angeles County requires masking by visitors and healthcare workers in all healthcare settings. As of today, masks are required inside of Emmons Wellness Center, for all Emmons staff and all visitors to Emmons.

Masking is not required, but is strongly recommended, in other indoor spaces on campus. Faculty continue to be able to require masking in their classrooms. If departments or classrooms need surgical, N95 or KN95 masks in bulk, please email acasillas@oxy.edu at Emmons with your request (quantity/type of mask). Please provide us with advance notice of your request, and we will confirm when your order is ready for pick-up from Emmons.

Thank you for all you have done, and continue to do, to keep yourselves and each other safe. We are looking forward to a healthy and enjoyable spring semester at Oxy!
