Life at Oxy has been so busy since I got back from Spring Break! Luckily I have had a lot of fun activities to fill my time. Last weekend was Oxy’s Dance Production – the huge student-organized dance show that happens every year. I attended the show my first two years at Oxy, but never had the guts to audition until this year. What I love about Dance Pro is that everyone that auditions gets in to at least one dance, so everyone has a chance to get up on stage! This year I was in two dances (a tap routine to the song “Sugar Sugar” by Baby Bash and a dance hall piece to Major Lazor and Sean Kingston) and I can’t wait to be in more next year!
Last weekend also happened to be my birthday! I turned 21 on Saturday and celebrated by going out to brunch with a group of friends. Later that day I went to Pasadena to get some amazing vegan ice cream (even my carnivore friends couldn’t tell it was vegan!). That night was the final performance of Dance Pro, so I got to spend the evening performing with some of my best friends. It was the perfect birthday for me! This week I am getting ready for the New Student Orientation next fall. I just got the job of O-Coordinator, meaning I’ll be staying here over the summer to prepare things for all the new students. Orientation is a really fun week that is packed with unique events. I am so excited to plan it! Right now I am helping interview and hire 50 O-Team leaders. These students will act as peer advisers for the incoming class during their transition to college life. There are many great applicants, so I know that the Class of 2015 will have an amazing Orientation experience! P.S. Happy birthday to my fellow blogger Aja! I wish her a year full of Harry Potter references, cool hair accessories, and cats. (I love you, Aja!)
