Activism with Vote For Equality
Come to our last school year canvass and dismantle homophobia and transphobia with Vote For Equality@Oxy, the Leadership LAB, and other members of the LA community!
There is no other organization/club on campus which provides student activists with an opportunity to create a personal and instant impact. Whether you identify or are an ally this is YOUR opportunity to be active in the movement for equality. Let's be lasting change.
VFE trains volunteers to have 1-on-1 conversations with registered voters about their real lived experiences. We provide a script, training, and lots of support. This method has been developed since 2008 and has been successfully used since in multiple campaigns (ie in Minnesota and Washington this past election).

Media Reform Summit: Good Grief – Who’s Going to Cover LA News Now?
Have you been following the news about the news lately?
Across this country, the independent, locally-owned journalism we rely on to keep watch on government and big business is under assault. The explosive growth of the Internet, combined with a slowing economy, has sent circulation and viewership numbers into a nosedive and led to massive layoffs of experienced journalists. Big stories are going unreported; some papers have stopped publishing and others are cutting back on home delivery.
Here in Los Angeles, there are reports that the Koch Brothers, Rupert Murdoch, or maybe even Eli Broad or Austin Beutner could buy the financially-ailing Los Angeles Times. Would any of them improve its news coverage or community service? And what would it mean to the city if the paper continues to decline or disappears?
Join us in exploring these issues on Saturday at our 6th Annual LA Media Reform Summit: Good Grief – Who’s Going to Cover LA News Now?
We'll hear from: former FCC Commissioner Michael Copps; Media Matters Vice President Angelo Carusone; former LA Times reporter Tim Rutten; LA Progressive Co-Founder Sharon Kyle; KCETLink Web Editor Brian Frank, and more!
