Emerging Leaders Program
“ELP offers an experience where you meet like-minded people, discuss pressing topics, and ultimately feel better prepared for future participation in the Oxy community. Great experience.” ~ ELP 2014 Participant
Spend a weekend off campus (September 27-28, 2014) with other first-year students exploring what it takes to become successful, active campus and community leaders. What makes ELP unique is that the program doesn't end with the retreat; participants will meet once a week for five weeks to further reflect on and develop their leadership skills. These weekly meetings are led by current Oxy students and ELP alumni.
In ELP, you will:
- Develop your understanding of leadership
- Meet other students with similar interests
- Learn about leadership opportunities at Oxy
- Make connections to Oxy
The ELP 2014 Retreat will kick-off on Saturday, September 27 at 8 am. Participants will spend the weekend at Idyllwild Pines Camp engaging in activities and dicussion focused around leadership. Participants will return to campus at approximately 5pm on Sunday, September 28.
The ELP application deadline is September 11. By applying to participate in ELP, you are committing to attend both the retreat (10/17-18) and the ELP classes (7 Tuesdays - specific dates TBD - throughout the fall semester from 6 - 8 pm).
