Colombia's 2016 peace accord was meant to bring an end to over a half-century of civil war. The accord's implementation has been both conceptually ambitious and politically troubled. This raises issues relevant to those hoping to learn from Colombia’s innovative approaches to peacebuilding, transitional justice, and accountability for histories of injustice.

-Ricardo Velasco Trujillo, Clemson University and http://www.culturalecologies.com. Professor Velasco is a social documentarian and Latin American cultural studies scholar who documents memorialization practices and micro-scale movements for reparation and historical redress among Afro-descendant and refugee communities in Colombia.
