Faculty define the academic experience at Occidental. They are scholars and thought leaders, bringing their expertise into the classroom and creating an active and engaged intellectual community. Our 9:1 student:faculty ratio means that students get to know professors well during their time at Oxy, in many cases working alongside them on research and creative projects. Faculty members serve as academic advisors, mentors and research collaborators. Best of all, the close relationship between Oxy's faculty and students is rewarding on both sides of the equation.
