Stefanie Zadravec is a resident playwright at New Dramatists, Playwright-in-Residence at The Women’s Project Theater, and the recipient of a 2015 Helen Merrill Award. This Spring she is a visiting Theater Artists at Occidental College funded by the Edgerton Foundation grant. Her play, Colony Collapse, will receive it’s world premiere production at The Theatre @ Boston Court and is directed by Jessica Kubzanzky.
Stefanie’s other plays include The Electric Baby (Two River Theater, Quantum Theatre) for which she received The Francesca Primus Prize, and the Women in Arts and Media Award and Honey Brown Eyes, (Theatre J, Working Theatre) received the 2009 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding New play and was published in American Theatre magazine. She is the recipient an Edgerton Foundation grant, NYFA Fellowship, a NYSCA Artists Grant, Lark Playwrights Fellowship, Playwrights Realm Fellowship, Dramatists Guild Fellowship, Sewanee Writers Conference Fellowship, A Sustainable Arts Foundation Award, Women in Arts & Media Award, and a Ford Foundation Human Rights Commission. Stefanie is an alumnus of The Women's Project Lab and The Lark Playwright's Workshop. Her plays are published by Dramatists Play Service and featured in Best Women’s Stage Monologues (Smith & Kraus). Stefanie lives in Brooklyn NY and teaches playwriting at PlayPenn and Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts.
