A message introducing the new COVID-19 Student Compact, which provides guidance to students and community members relative to expectations during the continuing pandemic.
Dear students,
I hope each of you is well and we look forward to seeing you all "virtually" soon! On behalf of the Office of Student Conduct, I write to share that we have developed a COVID-19 Student Compact that supplements the 2020-2021 Code of Student Conduct. The Compact provides guidance to students and community members of the expectations students are to follow as it pertains to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Compact was developed in collaboration from several offices at the College: Office of Student Conduct, Emmons Wellness Center, Residential Education and Housing Services, Dean of Students Office, Athletics, and Campus Safety. Additionally, student voices were involved as representatives from the Resident Advisor program and Honor Board were engaged in the process.
The compact contains information for both our small population of students living on-campus for Spring, as well as expectations for students who are living off-campus. For the Spring Clearance process, all students will be required to review the Student Compact and acknowledge that they will abide by the expectations set forth in the document.
If you have any questions about the COVID-19 Student Compact or the Code of Student Conduct, please reach out to Ashley Claiborne, assistant director of student conduct. Additionally, please continue to utilize Oxy's COVID-19 website for general information and ongoing updates about the pandemic and institutional plans for Spring 2021 and beyond.
Thank you and take care,
Isaiah J. Thomas, Ed.D. | Assistant Dean of Students
Director of REHS and Student Conduct
