A talk featuring Assistant Professor of Chemistry Raul Navarro.
Professor Navarro is a Los Angeles native who earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry at Yale, and his Ph. D. in organic chemistry at Caltech. He then went on to conduct chemical biology research at Stanford University, where he served as a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow. As an assistant professor at Occidental College, Dr. Navarro teaches organic chemistry, and his research focus lies in developing new chemical reactions and applying them in the synthesis of biologically active natural products. During this seminar, Professor Navarro will discuss his research and how his identity has influenced his personal and professional journey.
