Join the Office of the President and the Office of Sustainability as we celebrate Earth Month by tending to our two brand-new native gardens on campus.
Join the Office of Sustainability, the Office of the President, the Biology Department, and the Urban and Environmental Policy Department for an All-Campus Community Gardening Workday!
As of this spring, Oxy's campus is home to two brand-new native gardens! The Microforest, which was planted in December of 2023, and the 1541 Campus Rd. native garden at the UEP Institute, which is actively being planted!
In honor of Earth Month, we'd like to invite you to join in helping to maintain these baby gardens this Friday, April 12th! There are two opportunities to help; from 10am to 12pm, join us at the 1541 Campus Rd. Native Garden; from 1pm to 3pm, join us in the Microforest, located behind Fowler Hall! You can come for a bit, or stay for both! Any help you can offer will go a long way!
We encourage you to RSVP at this link. Please bring a water bottle, wear closed-toe shoes, and wear sun protection! All volunteers will enjoy snacks and agua fresca as a thank-you for helping keep our campus sustainable and beautiful!
This event is open to the public!
