This Day for Oxy, join the Womxn in Cinema & Television Club, the Sustainable Oxy Citizens Club, and FEAST for a premiere of Oxy alum Angelina Lee '22's latest documentary, The Big Raise: Permaculture farming at La Grand Raisandiere, France.
The Womxn of Cinema and Television Club, Sustainable Oxy Citizens Club, and FEAST present a premiere of regenerative agriculture documentary The Big Raise (2024), developed as part of the Obama Fellowship. The showing will be followed by a Q&A with director and Oxy alumna Angelina Lee '22. The documentary explores the permaculture practices used to sustainably grow food at La Grande Raisandière, or the Big Raise, which includes soil repair, companion planting, rainwater capture, incorporating solar and EV chargers, and more. This event is co-sponsored by the Media, Arts, & Culture Department and the Office of Sustainability, presented as the final film of the 2024 Earth Month Film Festival.
Join us on Thursday, April 18th at 7pm in Choi Auditorium for this special event! A casual mixer outside of Choi will start at 6:30pm with light refreshments from the MAC Department & Office of Sustainability.
