The 2025 Diplomacy & World Affairs United Nations Week begins on Monday, March 3rd with keynote speaker Azza Karam speaking on March 4.
Azza Karam is a member of the UN Secretary General’s High Level Advisory Board on Multilateralism, the founding President and CEO of Lead Integrity, and former Secretary-General of Religions for Peace.
A pre-keynote reception will be held in the Johnson Hall Global Forum beginning at 5:15 pm.

Monday, March 3
“The Art of Protest,” Johnson Hall’s Global Forum, all week
An exhibition will be on display all week that showcases the role of visual media in protest of human rights abuses around the world.
“UN Week Craft Fair,” Academic Quad, noon-2 p.m.
Come and join us for a fun little Craft Fair focused on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Each vendor will have a relation to one or more of the 17 SDGs and information will be available on how the UN is addressing these goals.
“UN Trivia Night,” Choi Auditorium, 6-8 p.m.
The UN-themed trivia night is open to all Oxy students. Prizes will be given to the winning teams!

“Jacques Fomerand Memorial UN Program Alumni Panel,” Choi Auditorium, 6 p.m.
A panel to celebrate the many invaluable contributions of Assistant Director Jacques Fomerand to the Kahane UN Program and the successes of our current and previous year alumni. *A reception will be held in the Johnson Hall Global Forum immediately following the panel.
Thursday, March 6
Film screening: Navalny, Choi Auditorium, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Navalny, recipient of the 2023 Oscar for Best Documentary Feature, follows the Russian opposition leader through his political rise, his search for the truth behind his 2020 assassination attempt, and his fight for democratic reform, which ultimately led to his death in a Russian prison in 2024.
