Directed by Nā‘ālehu Anthony, this documentary follows the crew of the Hōkūle‘a and Hikianalia as they voyage around the world using traditional Hawaiian navigation methods and educating through cultural exchange. It’s an inspiring narrative that weaves together footage taken over the past few years and brings the story home.
President Jonathan Veitch will be the speaker at Occidental's 131st annual Convocation, the formal gathering that marks the beginning of the academic year. The annual Linda and Tod White Teaching Prize and Graham L. Sterling Memorial Award will also be presented.

Former students, friends and colleagues will be paying tribute to Bob in Thorne Hall, one of the campus venues where he used to teach. An informal reception on the Thorne Patio will follow the celebration. The program will be videotaped and posted on the College's YouTube channel so that anyone unable to attend will be able to see it.
Underwritten by the Ruenitz Trust Fund Endowment in honor of Dr. and Mrs. Robert C. Ruenitz, the Occidental Phi Beta Kappa Speakers Series Lecture is free and open to the public.
