Allen Savedoff is a member of the Pacific Symphony, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and California Philharmonic, and has performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, LA Philharmonic New Music Group, LA Opera, LA Chamber Orchestra, Pasadena Symphony, New West Symphony, Glendale Symphony, LA Master Chorale, Opera Pacific and Southwest Chamber Music. His studio work includes recording for feature films and television. He has recorded three solo CDs: Contradiction, a collection of jazz standards for contrabassoon; SavoirFaire, a potpourri of new and classical music for bassoon and contrabassoon, both on Capstone Records; and most recently, Standing On Chairs, an instrumental pop, rock and blues album available on Big Round Records. Savedoff has been a faculty member at Augusta College, Georgia and St. Cloud State University, Minnesota. Current teaching positions include Occidental College, Glendale Community College and Pasadena City College. At the 2013 International Double Reed Society Conference, he was invited to perform Bounce, by Bruce Broughton. As a hobby, he enjoys battery electric vehicles.
