Heng Lam Foong joined UEPI as Program Director in 2009 and is an adjunct faculty with the College’s new Public Health minor. She’s supported various UEPI projects including Food & Transportation and the Healthy School Food Coalition, and is currently working on the Luce China-Environment, Community Health Engagement and Water Works programs. Heng also represents UEPI in the campus wide Community Engagement initiative with the Center for Community Based Learning and the Office of Community Engagement. Prior to her time at UEPI, Heng Lam worked at various community non-profits which focus on prevention and health care access including Healthy Eating Active Communities (HEAC) South Los Angeles; Healthy Parks, Healthy Communities at the Trust for Public Land; and PALS for Health/ALAS para tu Salud. She loves the diversity of the city and when she is not on campus, you can probably find her eating at mom & pop owned restaurants, working in the garden or running through the neighborhoods of Los Angeles.
