Liz Mendez

Liz (she/they) is a First-Generation, Queer, Xicana therapist who earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Services from Cal State Fullerton and her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan. Liz specializes in working with LGBTIA2S+/Queer populations, first-generation students and communities of color. She is passionate about supporting students as they navigate identity development, life transitions, and self-empowerment through the application of culturally rooted and affirming practices. Liz utilizes a trauma-informed, justice-oriented, intersectional and decolonizing lens through an integrative approach of traditional therapeutic modalities and holistic/indigenous healing practices. Liz is a life-long student and is completing a 300 hr YTT with Ignite Yoga and Wellness Institute and re-connecting to the ancestral wisdom of her ancestors through Kalpulli Teocalli Ollin.
