Robin earned a Master of Arts in International Education at American University, Washington, D.C. in 1993 and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations at Willamette University, Salem, Oregon in 1987.
Her equity and justice training includes participation in Moving From Inclusivity Talk to Equity in Action in International Education, IIE/Dickinson College (2020), Uncovering the Hidden Prejudice that Shapes What We See, Think and Do, Standford University's Dr. Jennifer Eberhardt (2021) and Anti-Blackness is Real. Another World is Possible, Occidental College/Ubuntu Research (2021).
Robin studied abroad in Japan and served as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in Papua New Guinea.
In international higher education Robin's professional journey also includes Cornell University, Seattle University, the joint campus of Willamette University/Tokyo International University of America and the Academy for Educational Development (now FHI 360). 2012-2014 Robin served on the Board of Directors of the Forum on Education Abroad.
She occasionally presents at professional meetings (NAFSA, CIEE, IES, etc.). Her collaborative leadership has resulted in over $3.2 million in foundation (Mellon, Irvine, Luce) and individual philanthropic support for Occidental College and previously at Seattle University.
