Born and raised in Southern California, Sophia didn’t have to travel far before she found the school she loved. At Oxy she majors in Economics with a double minor in Urban & Environmental Policy (UEP) & French. On campus Sophia has been involved in a number of extracurriculars including a member of the Oxy Volleyball team, a staff writer/photographer for the campus newspaper, a member of the Occidental Consulting Group, and the mentorship program coordinator for the Women of Economics club. This past summer Sophia was accepted into the Undergraduate Summer Research Program where she analyzed STEM gender and racial gaps in elementary school students. Sophia hopes to pursue a career that intersects Economics and social justice. In her spare time she enjoys going to the beach and thrift store shopping.
