All members of the Oxy community, incuding students, are responsible for knowing the following:

I.   POLICY STATEMENT. 

As a private, non-profit educational institution, Occidental College generally prohibits the use of its campus for commercial purposes. This policy describes the prohibition against commercial use.

II.  APPLICABILITY. 

This policy applies to all students, alumni, employees (including faculty, staff, and administrators), and any other person or organization who attempts to use the campus for commercial purposes.  

III. POLICY.  

Commercial organizations - including organizations owned, operated by, or employing students, employees, or alumni of the College - may not establish auxiliary enterprises on the campus and may not use College facilities for commercial purposes without the prior written consent of the Vice President of Finance, Planning, and Operations/Chief Operations Office.

No person or organization may establish or operate a business on campus property for personal profit, nor may they use campus facilities to conduct any portion of such businesses.

No person or organization may use the College name or trademarks without prior consent and/or licensing agreement. This includes the use of “Occidental College," “Oxy," the College seal, logo or other identifying symbols. Please see the Use of College Name and Trademarks Policy for more information.
