Love Your Hair Workshop

This year the celebration will be a two-day event starting on February 28th with a launch on PRESENCE. The second event is a live Zoom hair care workshop by Jasmine Curtis, creator of Avocurl. Join us on Friday, April 2nd, for the live Zoom hair care workshop!

The Persecution of Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang, China

Timothy Grose, PhD is an associate professor of China Studies at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. His research on expressions of Uyghur ethno-national identities and public performances of Islamic piety has been published in the China Journal, Journal of Contemporary China, Ethnic and Racial Studies, China File, Dissent, and Foreign Policy. Timothy’s commentary on ethnic policy in Xinjiang has appeared in Al-Jazeera, The Atlantic, CNN, The Diplomat, Economist, The Guardian, and Vox among others.

A Leadership Journey

Dr. Amanda E. Rogers is a Fellow at The Century Foundation, and Visiting Assistant Professor of Middle East Studies at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Rogers is an activist, artist, academic, and internationally recognized expert on transnational Non-State Armed Groups, political violence and propaganda, from ISIS to Neo Nazis. Her photojournalism, political commentary and analysis has been featured in a number of forums, including Al-Jazeera, the New York Times, the Atlantic Council, The Intercept, London’s Frontline Club, VICE, HBO, CNN, and the BBC, among others.
