Library Workshop-Data and the U.S. Census

This workshop is for both faculty and students. In it, you will:
 

  • Identify three main areas of data (American Community Survey, Economic Census, Census of Governments)
  • Practice using Census Data Tools and PUMS
  • Access Census Resources including infographics and visualization
  • Identify Census products to use in upcoming courses/assignments

Student Workshop: Primary and Secondary Sources

In this workshop, you will:

  • Distinguish and differentiate between primary and secondary sources.
  • Explore and analyze how combining primary and secondary sources can lead to the development of novel research questions.
  • Engage in scholarly dialogue by learning how to use of both primary and secondary sources can generate a conversation between themselves (as researchers) and published scholars.

This workshop will be in the Braun Room in Oxy Library.
