Want to go to college? Join Oxy Upward Bound!
Currently, we partner with the following four high schools, serving 122 9-12 grade students during the academic year:
- Franklin High School
- Belmont High School
- Lincoln High School
- Wilson High School
- Sotomayor High School
To qualify for the program, participants must:
- Attend one of the target schools
- Have an academic need and want to go to college
- Meet low-income family guidelines OR be potential first-generation college students (See chart below for the Income Guidelines)
- Submit an application during recruitment at one of the target high schools

Current Participants
As an active participant, you are expected to honor your commitment to all four aspects of Oxy’s Upward Bound services. Attendance is critical for you to manifest your college goals. Upward Bound at Occidental College may not be for you if you cannot commit to the program attendance requirements.
