• Le Salon de Musiques
  By removing the stage, Le Salon de Musiques concert series in Los Angeles offers a more personal touch to listeners eager to familiarize themselves with chamber music and learn through a new dialogue between artist and audience.
• Los Angeles County Museum of Art Music Series
  The LACMA Department of Music Programs, seven-time national winner of the ASCAP/Chamber Music America Award for Adventurous Programming, annually presents over one hundred concerts featuring leading international and local ensembles in programs of classical, jazz, Latin, and new music.

New Music

• EAR Unit
  A new music group based in Los Angeles.

  A 24-member classical/contemporary ensemble comprising Los Angeles musicians committed to creating visceral, thought-provoking happenings.

Orchestras

• Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra
  Chamber orchestra including the best musicians from Los Angeles, some of whom have been with the orchestra over 20 years.
• Los Angeles Philharmonic
  Includes several music series--jazz, world music, new music (Green Umbrella), chamber music, and recitals.
• Long Beach Symphony Orchestra
  Established in 1935, the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra draws loyal audiences from the greater Long Beach region to its six Classics in the Terrace Theater, four Symphony POPS! concerts in the Long Beach Arena, and its new Holiday Celebration concert.
• Musica Angelica
  A Baroque orchestra.
• Pacific Symphony Orchestra
  Founded in 1978, Orange County’s Pacific Symphony has played a central role in the growth of the performing arts in Orange County. It presents more than 80 concerts per year.

Opera Companies and Choral Groups

• Long Beach Opera
  The oldest operatic producing company in the metropolitan Los Angeles/Orange County region.

  The United States' fifth largest opera house, under the leadership of General Director Plácido Domingo.

• Pacific Opera Project
  Founded in July of 2011 with the purpose of bring accessible, affordable, and entertaining opera to audiences across Los Angeles.  

Performance Spaces

• Beyond Baroque
  A performance space in Venice featuring new music, improvisation, readings, and poetry.
• California Institute for the Preservation of Jazz
• The California Institute for the Preservation of Jazz is a state-chartered institute housed in Cal State L.A. Its mission is to preserve and promote the great American cultural heritage and social history of jazz music by building a bridge to diverse communities through education and outreach.
• Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock
• Features new music concerts, art classes, and open-mic poetry.
• Grand Performances
  Grand Performances has seasonal outdoor performances (June through October) in a beautiful downtown L.A. setting.
• Hammer Museum
  UCLA’s department of ethnomusicology and the Hammer Museum jointly present “A Spring Festival of World Music" in the Museum’s courtyard. Performed by students and faculty, this lively series of international rhythms, sounds, and dance is free to the public.
• The Huntington Library
  A collections-based research and educational institution established in 1919, sometimes hosting musical performances.
• The Japan-American National Museum
  This museum presents music from many cultures, not solely Japanese music
• Long Beach Terrace Theatre
  The Terrace Theater is a full-production theater used year-round by local performing arts groups.
• The Music Center
  The Music Center includes the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Ahmanson Theater, the Mark Taper Forum, and the Dorothy Chandelier Pavilion.
• Segerstrom Center for the Arts
  Hosts a balance of quality international, national, and regional performances of symphony and other musical styles, dance, musical theatre, and opera.
• The Pacific Asia Museum
• REDCAT Theatre
  CalArts’ downtown center for innovative visual, performing, and media arts. Includes various performance, film and video, dance, and musical explorations.
• The Skirball Cultural Center
  Offers concerts year-round.
• Center for the Art of Performance at UCLA
  The largest arts presenter in the West. Regular programs include the International Theatre Festival as well as such luminaries as Laurie Anderson, Michael Nyman, Steve Reich, The Kronos Quartet, and a host of performers from a variety of backgrounds.
