Yes! Our only requirements for participation are that dogs are over 16 weeks of age, vaccinated against rabies and DHLPP (or your veterinarian’s equivalent), and have no history of aggression toward humans.
Our lab is located in Swan Hall at Occidental College. The best place to park is the visitor parking lot located at the corner of Alumni Ave. and Campus Rd. When you arrive, we will meet you at the Lucille Y. Gilman Memorial Fountain located just outside of Swan Hall. See the image below for a pictorial representation of the parking and meeting areas.
We’d love to have all of your dogs join us for studies. However, we can only have one dog in the lab at a time. As such, we ask that you make a separate appointment for each dog. We would be happy to work with you to schedule your dogs in whatever orientation makes the most sense for your schedule.
We have a variety of treat options in the lab that we’re sure your dog will love! If you prefer that we use your own treats, we are happy to do so as well.
Yes! You might be surprised at just how smart your dog actually is.
Yes! You will be in the room with your dog during the entire testing process.
Yes! Your dog will be the only dog in the lab during their testing session.
