We are running out of time. 2023 was one of the most volatile climate years in history, and the mealy outcomes of COP28 make it clear that incremental politics aren't going to save us. Is there any hope of achieving the systemic changes we need to address climate change before it's too late? In SAVING OURSELVES: From Climate Shocks to Climate Action, author Dana R. Fisher charts a realistic path forward for climate action--but only by mobilizing people power to push for the necessary changes.
Join the MAC Department for critical media presentations, media production screenings, and honors presentations over two nights in Thorne Hall, and at additional site-specific locations TBA. Students in both departmental concentrations will share their capstone work on the nights of April 23 and 24, with pre-receptions 6-7 Outside Thorne and proceedings beginning in Thorne at 7 PM.

All conversations are open to the public at no cost, creating a space for diverse communities to join in the conversation and explore ideas together.
Immediately following President Elam's keynote address, music industry leaders and artists John Branca ’72, Ramona Gonzalez '09, Bob Johnson ’77, and Ian Montone '89 will discuss the trends and challenges in the music industry, and how an Oxy liberal arts education prepares students to thrive in an ever-changing field.
