Hello incoming first-year students!
We are eagerly awaiting your arrival to campus in a little over a month. Today’s email is packed with pertinent information on what to expect during Move-In and Orientation. Please take a few minutes to read it through.
Move-In
First-year and transfer students move-in on Monday, August 21, between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
If you are participating in L.A. Engage, fall sports or International Student Orientation, you will receive early move-in info and instructions from your program leaders and coaches.
Take time to carefully read the Move-In Guide in its entirety. On Move-In Day, you will enter campus on Bird Road, near the intersection of Campus Road and Ridgeview Avenue (whether you are driving or in an Uber/taxi). Click here to view this intersection on Google Maps. From this point of entrance, follow the signs and arrows to the parking structures around campus. Campus Safety officers and Orientation Team members will be present to point you in the right direction.
After you are directed to Check-In, you will stop at the following tables in this order: SLICE, Housing, and lastly, Card Services. Once you have completed your visit at Card Services, please return to your car (if you drove) to find your residence hall in order to unload and move into your room!
Orientation
We have an amazing group of current students—known as O-Team —who cannot wait to welcome you onto campus and help you with a smooth transition to our community.
On the New Student Orientation webpage, you can view the full Orientation schedule. During your first week on campus, you will have the opportunity to nurture meaningful connections, build friendships and gain access to valuable resources and departments on campus!
Please remember that all of the Orientation sessions are mandatory. We have scheduled many wellness breaks to rest and recoup, but be prepared to engage with us from Tuesday, August 22 through Sunday, August 27. Convocation will take place on Monday, August 28 and classes begin on Tuesday, August 29.
