Dear incoming Occidental students,
We are elated to welcome you to the Occidental College community!
Though the start of the fall semester is several months away, we want to help you get a jump start on your path towards Oxy. Rest assured, we are hard at work preparing for your arrival and will keep you updated every step of the way. Keep an eye out for emails from us on most Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer to inform you of your important deadlines and to-do’s.
Here are a few upcoming events and action items to keep in mind:
• Join us on Wednesday, May 17 at 5 p.m. (PST) for the Road to Occidental Webinar —get your questions answered in real time! Register here.
• You will receive your MyOxy account and @oxy.edu email address activation and login information later this month (please note that this is different from your application portal login). MyOxy is an intranet—or internal website—for Occidental.
• Incoming first-year students are invited to register for L.A. Engage, an optional pre-orientation program. Registration opens next week.
• Registration for the Humanities for Just Communities virtual course is open! More details coming soon.
• In June, you’ll receive information about choosing and registering for your First Year Seminar (FYS) for the fall semester.
• The housing application opens on June 1 . New student move-in is August 21. Students participating in LA Engage, international student orientation and fall sports will be notified about earlier move-in dates. You must activate your @oxy.edu email address to complete the housing application.
• You must have a final high school transcript sent to Occidental upon graduation. The Office of Admission should receive this transcript by mid-July.
• Save the date! New student orientation is scheduled for August 22 - 28 .
